The Staff of 2013
Kinneret Head Staff
|
Program Director:
Hi Campers, Parents, and Staff. It’s hard to believe that this is already my fifteenth year of counting down the days until camp begins. Since 1999, Camp Kinneret has been my home. I can’t imagine spending my summers at anywhere but Camp Kinneret. While every summer comes with a special twist, we can always expect to find a warm, safe and loving chevra at Camp Kinneret.
I am fortunate to be working with one of the most creative, nurturing and inspiring groups of adults for the summer of 2013. This summer, our madrichim are largely focusing on creating a caring and compassionate community. Camp Kinneret has put together an exceptionally diverse and inspiring group of madrichim to lead us into the summer.
When I’m not at camp, I live in Toronto, where I have recently completed my Masters in Teaching at the University of Toronto. I also like to stay involved with Canadian Young Judaea movement. While I love teaching and volunteering with CYJ, I can’t wait until July 2nd! I can’t imagine being anywhere else during the summer. I can easily say that all of my best memories have been at Camp Kinneret, and my hope and vision is that this summer will be no different.
If you have any questions about the upcoming summer, or camp in general, please do not hesitate to contact me. Looking forward to the BSE,
Lorne Rembach

Assistant Program Director:
Hi there! My name is Dalia Witkowski and I will be the Assistant program director at camp for the summer of 2013! I could not be more excited to return to camp after an amazing summer as LIT unit head last year. Camp Kinneret has been my home since I was 10 years old, and every year I look forward to coming back to our Kinneret chevra knowing that each summer will be better than the last. Throughout the year, while I eagerly await the summer, I study at McGill University towards a Bachelor of Commerce in psychology. Kinneret is a place where friends become family and I can’t wait to meet the Kinneret family of 2013! See you all soon!

Giborim Unit Head:
Hi everyone! My name is Dena Sommer, and I can’t wait to start the summer as your Giborim Unit Head for the summer of 2013! As a seven year old way back in 1999, I fell in love with our amazing camp. I grew up at this awesome place, and I’m so excited to share the special atmosphere with our next generation of campers. Our gibbies hold a special place at Kinneret, and I'm thrilled to be a part of it. This past winter, I graduated from the University of Guelph with a BSc in Biomedical Science, and now I am passing the time until I get to go back to the most incredible place on earth! This summer is going to be the best one yet, and I look forward to seeing you all there.

Goshrim Unit Head:
Hey everyone!
My name is Katie Goldig, and I am so excited to be working as Gib/Gosh Unit Head this summer!!
It will be my 9th summer at CKB and I can't wait for the summer of
2013! I started going to camp when I was 12 years old and every
summer just keeps getting better and better! During the year I
study Psychology (Major) at McGill University with Minors in
Behavioural Science and Anthropology. I also work with Guy to create
all of the year-round events for the campers. Since I am always so busy,
knowing that I'll be at camp soon is what keeps me going. It is such an
honour to work at camp every year and it truly feels like home. Kinneret
is such a huge part of my life and I am so happy to be working with the
Goshrim unit this year!

Kochot Unit Head:
Hey everyone! My name is Michael Rembach but you can call me Miky. I am both excited and proud to be entering this summer as Kochot Unit Head. Since first stepping off the bus in 2002, I have continued to call Camp Kinneret home. Somehow every summer seems to outdo the last and I simply cannot imagine spending my time anywhere other than camp. 2013 will mark my fourth summer in the Kochot Unit and my second as Unit Head! While not at camp, I study at Ryerson University, where I am completing my Bachelor’s of Commerce with a major in Information Technology. With the first day of camp approaching, I hope that you are looking forward to it as I am. This summer will be the BSE and the Kochot unit will be unlike any other.

L.I.T. Unit Head:
Hey everyone!! My name is Sybil Sailofsky and I am SO excited to be 2013's LIT unit head! This will be my 6th summer with CKB, my 4th as staff (all in the LIT unit). Kinneret is my home away from home, and I can't wait for this coming summer. I'm currently in my last semester of my Bachelor's degree at McGill University, graduating with a major in Anatomy and Cell Biology and a minor in Drama and Theatre (I know, very different sides of the spectrum, but you gotta do what you love!). I love performing, especially in musical theatre, and also keep busy working at a pediatric clinic. As you can see, I love working with kids, and Kinneret campers are at the top of my list! I can't wait to reunite with all of them this coming summer, and meet all the new ones coming in. Kinneret really is one big family, and I can't wait for that first day back together!

Head Of Waterfront:
Hey Camp K! My name is Adam Kwinter and I'll be your head of waterfront
this summer! This summer will be my 14th in the YJ system and I can't wait
for it to get started! This will be my fourth year as staff at Kinneret and
somehow every summer seems to just keep getting better and better. When not
hanging out on the docks at camp, I study human kinetics at the University of
Guelph. Can't wait to see all of your smiling faces in just a few months (or
weeks, or days...really depends when you read this!)

Rosh Sports:
Hey Camp Kinneret! My name is Reuben Rothstein, and this summer marks my thirteenth at CKB, fourth as a counselor, and third as Rosh Sport. Away from camp, I’m a fulltime student completing a joint-honors double major in History and Political Science at McGill University, I work as a high-school basketball coach, and volunteer as a student mentor with GFGSMTL. Along with camp, sports are one of the great loves of my life. In my spare time I play in two competitive recreational basketball leagues, one intramural ice-hockey league, and on one co-ed intramural water polo team. At camp I've helped oversee the implementation of a new sports program that focuses on skill development, healthy living, and team spirit. I have, and always will be a proud Kinnereter, and as the BSE approaches, I can't wait to teach all you kids how to shoot a pull-up jump shot!
